Webex is an all-in-one business communication app that includes a rich feature set, including placing and receiving audio and video calls with colleagues. You can get Webex for your computer, mobile device, or web browser. Install it on multiple devices and switch between them, hassle-free. Your content stays in sync because everything is stored in the cloud. This guide provides instructions on how to install Webex onto your Windows computer and covers the application’s main features.

To download the Webex app to your computer, you must first activate the email address that you want to use with your ProConnect account with Cisco. Ask your site administrator or account manager for your activation link.

Note: You only have to do this the first time you log in to your Webex account. Activation links your email address to your ProConnect account.
  1. 1. Go to Your platform is automatically detected.
  2. 2. Click Download.
  3. 3. Once downloaded, launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.

  1. 1. Once you have accepted the Webex User Agreement, the login screen appears.
  2. 2. Enter the email address associated with your ProConnect account.

  1. 3. Click Next. You are redirected to the Consolidated login page.
  2. 4. Enter your ProConnect User ID and Password. Your User ID is your ten-digit phone number (e.g.
  1. 5. Click Submit
 Note: If you have forgotten your password, contact your company administrator to have it reset.

Once you are logged in, you can see your Webex Dashboard, where you can create a Space, initiate chats, make phone calls, access your calendar, join meetings, and more.

Profile and Preferences

In the app header, click your profile to update your picture or name, access your settings and preferences, and set your availability.


In the app header, click search, meet, and call to search through the history of your conversations to find people you're talking to, spaces you're in, messages you received, and files you need.

People and Spaces List

People and Spaces appear on the main screen after login. Click the Messaging icon at any time to return to this screen. At the top, are your latest active spaces. If you've been added to a new team or space by anyone, you'll see it here too. You will see a bold space name when someone has posted a new message in the space.

Navigation Menu

Use the Navigation Menu to switch easily among your message, team, call, and meeting views. Messages appear by default, but your teams, contacts, calls, and meetings are just a click away.

Space Activities

Your group work takes place in spaces, either in groups or in direct messages with another person. At the top of any space is a helpful activity menu that organizes the information you’ve shared.

  • • Messages—See all messages in the space.
  • • People—See who's in the space.
  • • Content:
  • • Files—Find your shared files, photos, and videos.
  •       ○ Whiteboards—Create and share content on whiteboards.
  •       ○ Links—See all links shared in the space.
  •       ○ Recordings—See all recordings shared in the space.
  • • Schedule—Create a meeting from the space or view upcoming meetings scheduled for the space.
  • • Pin—Pinned messages for a space are stored here.
  • • Search—Click this search icon to automatically filter and search the content in the space.

<span id="topic-4" style="padding-top:40px;">Upload a Profile Picture</span>

Your profile depicts only your initials within a circle before you upload one. To upload your picture:

  1. 1. In the app header, click your profile.
  2. 2. Click Edit profile, then go to the Profile picture section.
  3. 3. Click Upload picture to browse for an image to upload.
  1.        a. Note: If you already have a profile picture, click Change Picture to change your current image.
  1. 4. When you've made your changes, click Save.

You can change the name of your Webex Profile to show your preferred name. To update your display name:

  1. 1. In the app header, click on your profile picture.
  2. 2. Click Edit profile, then go to the Display name section.
  3. 3. Click on your name, and make your changes.
  4. 4. Click Save.

Create and post the status you want so that your colleagues know what you're up to. To set a custom status:

  1. 1. In the app header, click Set a status.
  2. 2. Select a status from the list
  3. 3. You can also click Set a new status to create a new one.
  1.        a. You can add up to five status options to the list, so they are quickly available.
  2.        b. Each status has a maximum length of 75 characters and can also include emojis.
  1. 4. To remove a selected status, click Clear status.
